Questions for your agent
Get clear answers before you choose.
- How much is due today?
- What are the later payments and total cost for the policy term?
- Which agency, carrier, policy, or filing fees apply?
- When does coverage start, and what conditions remain?
Plan your budget
What does a monthly payment add up to?
Use your current payment or a budget amount to see a simple annual total.
Example monthly amount
Amount in the lower part of this range
Example: $100 a month × 12 = $1,200. Adjust the amount; this is not a rate or quote.
Compare more than the monthly price
- Coverage limits and exclusions
- Amount due today and all fees
- Total cost for the policy term
This tool multiplies a monthly amount by 12. It does not estimate an AALL premium or available coverage. Ask an agent for the actual policy-term total, fees, and payment schedule. Color shows the amount on this range, not whether coverage is sufficient or a price is competitive.
Before you say yes
Confirm these five things in one place.
- 1Drivers and vehicleNames, driver details, vehicle, and VIN are correct.
- 2What is due todayThe starting amount and what repeats are shown separately.
- 3Every applicable feeAgency, carrier, policy, and filing fees identify who charges them.
- 4Exact effective dateKnow when coverage starts; a quote is not active coverage.
- 5Who handles whatAALL, carrier, customer, MVD, court, or lender steps are separated.
Final eligibility, price, limits, terms, and effective date depend on underwriting and policy issuance.

Know what you’re choosing
Liability generally covers harm you cause to others, not your own car.
Arizona generally requires 25/50/15 liability limits for vehicles driven on public roads. Meeting the minimum is one consideration; understanding the gap is another.
- What liability is forCovered injuries and property damage you cause to other people, up to policy limits.
- What liability alone generally does not payYour own injuries or damage to your own vehicle; policy terms apply.
- What an agent can help reviewWhether minimum liability fits your vehicle, finances, lender requirements, and risk tolerance.
When liability-only may fit
Tends to fit: an older, paid-off vehicle whose owner is prepared to handle repairs or replacement without an insurance payout.
Usually doesn’t fit: a financed or leased vehicle; lenders typically require physical-damage coverage beyond liability.
Separate note: if you use your vehicle for rideshare or deliveries, ask an agent to check that use and the coverage you need before driving.
These are general patterns, not advice about your policy. Ask an agent to review your situation.

Complete cost
What to include in the comparison
Is the amount due today always the monthly amount?
Not necessarily. A down payment, installment schedule, and fees can make the starting amount different. Ask for each number separately.
When is a quoted price final?
Ask the agent what still depends on reports, documents, or the insurer’s review. Confirm the final policy terms and cost before purchase; the budget tool on this page is not a quote.
Should I cancel my current policy while comparing?
No. Keep current coverage active until replacement coverage and its effective date are confirmed.
Do not choose from the smallest number alone.
Start the quote, then confirm the complete cost and effective date before saying yes.
